Pump End Design Engineer

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Pump Design Engineer is to design pumps and parts, as well as prepare various drawings and documentation associated with the fabrication and assembly processes. This position shall also serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the team's overall success.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Creates technical drawings of pumps, parts and equipment

•    Generates machine drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and Bills of Material

•    Reviews specifications and data sheets to ensure requirements are adequately defined and documented

•    Performs design calculations including those related to mechanics and strength of materials

•    Completes design changes and upgrades to existing products

•    Prepares product drawings for marketing department as required

•    Works with design and production team to resolve issues, implement processes, and meet product release schedules

•    Assists with internal quality control processes as well as vendor quality product reviews

•    Provides technical support to manufacturing and sales staff

•    Provides administrative aid to the engineering department as needed

•    Completes other engineering tasks and responsibilities as identified

•    Ensures that The Mersino Way is a guiding document in all daily activities

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required, preferably with 5 years or more experience in designing pumps.

•    Skilled in 3D CAD modeling of complex geometry, preferably in SolidWorks

•    Working knowledge of AutoCAD

•    Proficiency in creating manufacturing drawings for cast parts, machined parts or fabricated parts

•    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

•    Experience with Bill of Material creation

•    Machine design experience and demonstrable mechanical aptitude

•    Experience in manufacturing and fabrication of rotating equipment

•    Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects

•    Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications
